Free Printable Planner Inserts 2022 Future-Planning (Dated)
Almost every year (we can all agree that 2020 was a garbage fire), I make a set of free printable planner inserts for future planning. They are dated for 2022, and will fit in a Happy Planner Classic-sized planners, or in A5 planners. This year, it’s the same layout as usual, but now in HPC and A5 sizes.
These inserts will work beautifully with my full year monthly dated calendars (also printable, also free). Like these, they are available in A5 and Happy Planner Classic.
These are absolutely free for personal use, and you don’t need to give me your email address to get them.
First Page: Year on One Page Calendar Planner Insert
The insert starts with a full year-at-a-glance page. I like to highlight birthdays, anniversaries, and other important dates. I’m using dot markers this year, and I’m coordinating my colors to my MäksÄ“Life goal planning.
This is also a great place to mark paid holidays, or days school is closed.
Pages 2-7: Two Months on a Page Monthly Vertical Dated Planner
Most of the insert is two months per page, covering all of 2022. Much like my Month-on-One-Page meal planning insert, this one has each day on a line, with the weekends shaded. Because of this, it’s easy to see when plans are falling on a weekend.
These pages are great for jotting down future plans as they come up, or pre-planning date-sensitive events.
Page 8: Important Recurring Dates Planner Insert
The last page contains boxes for all the months of the year. They are open and unlined, so they’d be a great place to use stickers, too.
I’m using it to record recurring events, but you could also use this page for future-future planning and put events for 2023 in those boxes.
This year, I’m using it to list monthly and quarterly tasks, like turning the mattress and changing the oil on the car along with the usual birthdays and anniversaries.
Other uses for Free Printable Yearly Planner Inserts
You could print out these free printable planner inserts multiple times to use for different things:
- Meal planning
- Challenge lists
- Super-short journal entries
- Outfit planner
- Mood journal
- Health planner (record doctor’s visits, symptoms, meds)
I’m also thinking about using this for an at-a-glance content planner, with themes on the last page, and post dates on the vertical months.
Printing Instructions for Free Dated Planner Insert
If your printer does duplex printing, select “print on both sides” and “flip on short edge”. Then you can cut the inserts using the crop marks, punch, and you’re good to go!
If your printer doesn’t support duplex printing, print the PDF choosing “odd pages” only. Then load your pages back into the printer, select “even pages” and “reverse order”. Here’s a resource that may help from Adobe: Printing doublesided in Adobe Reader or Adobe acrobat

Other Sizes of This Future Planning Insert
Are there other sizes you’d like to see? I used to make these in half-letter that could also be used in a Traveler’s Notebook, and I could also make them Personal sized. Please let me know in the comments if that’s something you’d like to see.
